The decoration is applied underglaze, so the persimmon pattern sits beneath the glaze rather than on top of it, and the ice crack glaze adds a fine network of lines across the surface. Because the cup is half-handmade, slight differences between individual pieces are normal.

Capacity and use

At about 85ml, this ceramic cup is small enough for gongfu style sessions, where tea is brewed in short, concentrated infusions and poured into several small cups. It works as a single cup on its own or as an addition to an existing Kung Fu tea set.
